Are you interested in volunteering your time at YAAL? Whether you are a parent, a student, or a community member, there are many ways to get involved and volunteer with YAAL!
Board of Directors
Our all-volunteer Board consists of a minimum of four members, but we much prefer to have a robust number of people sharing their thoughts & ideas. Positions include President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Committee Chairs, and board members-at-large. The Board of Directors makes decisions around staffing, programming, fundraising, promotional ideas, space updates, and maintains the overall budget of YAAL. They are the group that keeps everything running behind the scenes!
Time commitment includes attending a regular monthly board meeting. Shared duties are rotated and include quarterly welcome meetings & emails, running showcases & performance weekends, and summer camps. We ask for a 2-year commitment from anyone applying.
New board members are considered through an application and approval process, and we are ALWAYS accepting applications. To apply, email your completed application to president@yaal.org!

Committee Volunteers
Want to help out with The Board, but cannot join just yet? Hop on one of our committees! We have several areas for you to get involved, including fundraising, grant writing, merchandise sales, programming/calendar creation, & the teen program, just to name a few! If you would like more information about joining a committee, please email info@yaal.org.
Rehearsal/Production Volunteers
For our various productions, we can use volunteers to fill roles including technical positions, costumes, props, painting, set design, hair, make-up, and backstage helpers during tech week and performance weekend. These volunteers would be older students who have been through YAAL training or who have other experience in a theatre setting. If you are interested, send an email to info@yaal.org.
Parent Volunteers
Is your student currently in a YAAL production or class and you’d like to be more involved? We have several ways! We often need help with costumes and/or props creation for anyone who is artistically inclined! We can usually use helpers during tech with hair, make-up, getting into costume, and backstage management as well! We will always accept help with finding restaurants to donate or businesses to sponsor a tech night meal! Additionally, we have opportunities for parents to help out during mainstage show weekends with concession sales & ushering!
